The Lecture Medal Awards are held at The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y5 AG, every two years, at the TRENDS in Opthalmology Meeting.
The Lecture Medal is awarded in recognition of services to ophthalmology and in commemoration of the pioneering work performed by Sir Nicholas Harold Lloyd Ridley FRS (1906 - 2001) in cataract surgery and the innovation of Intra Ocular Lenses undertaken at St Thomas’s Hospital in 1949 and 1950.
